I was very lucky to be assigned to John Siu, Managing Director of Cushman & Wakefield Hong Kong. When I started the Mentorship Programme and knew I was assigned to John, I felt very surprised, as Cushman & Wakefield is the company where I had spent the first 3 years of my career at. I can feel the warmth of the MBA CDT team in that they matched mentees with suitable mentors so that they can receive relevant guidance and advice, as well as information regarding a particular industry sector from their mentors.

Thanks to the real estate professional background and mutual colleagues, we quickly established a relationship and arranged a coffee chat in his office.

During my meetings with John, he brought deep insights, into the real estate finance and relevant financial market in Hong Kong. From him, I learned how a real estate asset can be combined with financial instruments for trading on the stock exchange, how to effectively utilize my work experience and existing advantages to strengthen my skill, and ultimately strategize the job hunt process. John has also introduced me to his friends to helped me broaden my industry network and to get other leaders’ perspectives and insights.
