Journey of Discovery – Part-time MBA International Field Trip Explore Precision Engineering and Manufacturing Breakthroughs in Germany

Another group of our current Part-time MBA students recently visited Germany to gain firsthand knowledge of its economic development and business practices from the ground. Throughout the trip, students delved into various industry segments, from automotive giants to hidden champions. Check out some highlights from their enriching experience:

• 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐤𝐬𝐰𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫: Students observed the cutting-edge manufacturing processes of Volkswagen, understood the innovation behind one of Germany’s worldwide famous automotive powerhouses, and its precision engineering initiatives.
• 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐕𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦: During the visit to the University of Dortmund, the students received a comprehensive introduction to Germany’s unique educational model, which seamlessly combines theoretical classroom instruction with real-life work experience. This system has played a pivotal role in shaping Germany’s workforce and driving its economic success.
• 𝐃𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥: As part of China’s One Belt One Road Initiative, the visit to the Duisburg container terminal provided a profound insight into its crucial role in global trade and connectivity.
• 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬: The students attended a comprehensive lecture on German Copyright and Intellectual Property Law, deepening their understanding of the legal landscape for conducting business in Germany.
• 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐨 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚: The students gained a deeper knowledge of market dynamics in the German automotive industry’s presence in China.
• 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧: The students immersed themselves in Germany’s rich culture and history by visiting Sanssouci Palace, Gedenkstätte und Museum Sachsenhausen, German Spy Museum Berlin, and DDR Museum. These experiences deepened their appreciation for resilience and cultural sensitivity, leaving a lasting impact on their understanding of Germany.
