I grew up in Melbourne, Australia. Upon completing a Bachelor of Commerce at Monash University in 2000, I relocated to Sydney where I joined the wealth management division of the National Australia Bank (NAB). Over the next six years, I worked through a number of roles and divisions at NAB before being given the opportunity to take up an international assignment as Head of Group Development, Hong Kong. My focus in this role was on identifying new business opportunities, both organic and inorganic, for the bank and working with businesses to realise them. During this time, I served on the leadership team for the Hong Kong banking business and group development in Asia, and I was also a responsible officer for Calibre Asset Management Ltd. From 2007 to 2011, I also served as chairman of the Young Executives Committee of the Australian Chamber of Commerce Hong Kong and Macau.
