HKU MBU Global Business Regional Perspective

Our Programmes

1 YEAR FULL-TIME MBA PROGRAMME
The full-time HKU MBA is an intensive 1 year programme with three tracks: the London track, New York track and Hong Kong/China track.

The University of Hong Kong and its prestigious MBA programme is a major participant in and contributor to the business culture of Hong Kong and mainland China. Today’s MBA students demand an approach that sets them up for success both regionally and internationally and provides them with a learning experience that bestows upon them a first-class education, real-world experience, and a deep understanding of international business and the cultural differences and nuances therein. HKU’s full-time MBA programme is specifically designed to produce these outcomes. Our Asia-Pacific and China focus gives our students a unique advantage in building their careers in the region and beyond.
2-YEAR PART-TIME MBA PROGRAMME
The HKU MBA is offered in both weekday and weekend modes for Part-time programme. Students can choose the study mode that best suits their work commitments. A certain degree of flexibility between weekday and weekend mode courses may be allowed on a case-by-case basis.

The weekday or weekend mode applies to core courses only, with electives offered from a common pool comprising courses in both modes.
2-YEAR PART-TIME MBA PROGRAMME AT SHENZHEN AND HONG KONG
The part-time Greater Bay Area (HK-SZ) MBA at HKU is designed to help you comprehend, manage, and capitalise on the region’s dynamic and rapidly evolving business environment while providing maximum flexibility of work-study balance between Shenzhen and Hong Kong throughout the 2-year programme.

The classmates around me are brilliant, and I enjoy every insightful in-class professor led discussion and exchange. I believe the two-year HKU MBA course will be a memorable learning experience for me. I also have a high degree of confidence in our post-MBA journey which I am sure will be fascinating.

It might sound crazy to some, but studying for an MBA during the pandemic has been the best decision of my life so far. I wanted to continue thriving in my job while engaging in the MBA programme at the weekend, and HKU MBA had the perfect programme for me to do this. It didn't require a lot of soul searching, mainly because HKU had always been a dream of mine - not only the programme but also the institution.

Although we have had to switch to online learning from time to time due to the pandemic, our professors are all committed and professional. More importantly, we have a very diverse class from different countries and work in different industries. The in-class sharing and out-of-class team discussions are some of the most inspiring moments of my study. We learn a lot from our peers and the friendship we build up will never end.

As a biomedical science specialist, the MBA will be invaluable in expanding my network in the region’s dynamic and rapidly evolving business environment, as well as developing crucial knowledge domains in business. My goal after the MBA is to combine the knowledge and network gained from the programme with my scientific expertise to help organisations enhance their business strategies to provide better healthcare services for societies in the Greater Bay Area.

The programme is challenging, packed and intensive (as expected) but it is also very gratifying. The university and the professors did a great job transitioning to the virtual learning environment in such a short time in the middle of February.

Through working on the project, we really gained a much deeper understanding of the essence of and the vision behind ESG, including its economic, social and compliance implications in our society. The experience was truly valuable for MBA students like us in the sense that we were able to combine both theoretical and practical knowledge shared by the industrial insiders.

Be open to people, opportunities, and criticism. The status of an MBA student would help open a lot of doors to industry experts, business executives, and academic professionals.

As the MBA programme went on, I found people are not focused on competition but instead focused on being classmates and friends
