I was born and raised in Chennai, India and have spent most of my working life in Mumbai. I have always been interested in pursuing a career in business and management, and hence after my schooling, I opted for a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
I now have 10 years of work experience across a variety of sectors. I spent the past five years with The Royal Bank of Scotland in its investment banking and analytics departments. This stage of my career taught me the principles of corporate finance and helped me to develop the ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
In addition to large international organisations, I have also had the opportunity to work in start-ups, one of which was my own. I started my career in a venture capital-funded online advertising start-up. I found that start-ups provide a platform for diverse and practical experiences and instil a deep appreciation for entrepreneurship.
I was attracted to HKU for its excellent faculty, multiple tracks and ability to confer an understanding of working in a cross-cultural international environment, as my experience is limited to working in India. Asia has always been the focus of my interest, and I plan to remain in the region for the rest of my life.
