I am currently working with EMC Corporation (EMC2) in our Global External Manufacturing division. EMC2 sells data storage, information security, virtualization, analytics, cloud computing and other products and services that enable businesses to store, manage, protect, and analyze data. EMC2 has over 65,000 employees and is the world’s largest provider of data storage systems by market share, competing against NetApp, IBM, Hewlett-Packard, and Hitachi Data Systems. This role ultimately brought me to Hong Kong in 2012, to be closer to our suppliers and contract manufacturers in the region.
Prior to my present position, I worked in Europe with my current employer and, before that, I worked in hedge fund administration. I have an undergraduate degree in business with certificates and diplomas in accounting.
I had been attending information sessions at several business schools since 2013 but for me there was never a “perfect” time to do an MBA. While researching the various options, I decided that HKU was going to be the best fit for me for a number of reasons. HKU is primarily focused on the development of their students and offers them a programme where students can feel as though they are more than just a number or another fee for the school. Having recently become a father, HKU offered a flexible schedule with the option of both weekday and weekend modes.
I am thoroughly enjoying my time with the MBA programme, in respect of both the course and the classmates that I have met along the way. I can already see improvements in myself that make me look forward to every new module, and the knowledge that I am gaining as I continue to grow.
