After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Diplomacy from Beijing Foreign Studies University, I began my career at a state-owned asset management company in China, where I gained five years’ experience in non-performing asset transactions and equity investments. As I have long been enthusiastic about exploring further career opportunities in the private equity (PE) sector, I felt a strong need to gain rigorous management training, renowned credentials and a strong network to facilitate my career advancement. I thus joined the HKU MBA because of its ideal location, worldwide prestige, Asian focus and extensive network.
With the help of the Career Development Office, I had the privilege of working as a part-time intern at a family-owned PE firm and also as a summer intern in the Global Markets Division of Nomura International (Hong Kong) during my MBA studies. These two internships broadened my professional exposure, enhanced my ability to work in a multicultural environment and improved my chances of obtaining my desired job.
Officially an MBA now, I have finally realised my career goal by joining a PE firm in China, thus embarking on a new chapter in my career and life.
