I grew up in Seoul, South Korea, and graduated from Hanyang University with a degree in Architectural Engineering. Since graduating, I’ve gone on to work at my family’s business, Alpha Precision H.K., where I hold the role of Business Manager. I’m an outgoing, digitally savvy person, and I’m on a mission to entertain the world with exceptional content.
My first experience of working in the Korean entertainment industry was unforgettable and inspired me to discover a whole new world that I previously didn’t know existed. I worked with many K-POP stars and participated in creating eye-catching visual content, which had great engagement and interaction online. Through this experience, I realised my life’s goal: to bring meaning to people’s lives and share the ‘feel good factor’ globally through my commitment and efforts.
I’ve always challenged myself to ensure that I can broaden my international horizons and open doors to new opportunities which will enhance both my personal growth and career progression. Soon after, I decided to take over my family’s business, when the global outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic irreversibly changed the world. This ‘new normal’ demanded that I rethink the direction that I was heading in; in other words, I needed to adapt and write a new narrative for myself. In my eyes, I believe that the MBA journey will bring about new possibilities, and shape my vision, mission and values going forward.
I believe that I’m living in an era of unprecedented opportunity, and I have the ability to actualise my dreams if I believe in it enough and apply myself sufficiently. Whilst I’m working for my family business right now, I could start my own business or find a new job in a new industry in tandem with this. Whilst studying for an MBA at HKU Business School, I hope to learn about business development, particularly establishing a viable business, and develop leadership skills, so that I can leverage these throughout my career post-MBA and in my life, generally.
