I grew up in Singapore, though I was born in India, and attended Nanyang Technological University, Singapore where I graduated with a B.Eng. (Electrical & Electronics Engineering). I’m a passionate, enthusiastic and ambitious individual who enjoys challenges and loves working with people.
My last role before the MBA was at Amazon Web Services, Singapore, where I worked as Manager – Lead Management, APJ Marketing Operations. During my time at AWS, I was fortunate enough to be a pioneer and global representative in developing the lead management framework and CRM strategies for marketing activities across APJ (Asia, Japan, Korea, India, Australia, New Zealand), leading to the highest conversion rate in APJ (16% vs. ~10%) globally. As part of this, I also received an award for handling the post-event CRM for the largest annual project, AWS Summit, which contributed to a 30%+ sales pipeline annually for the APJ region.
I believe in the quote, “In order to get somewhere you’ve never gone before, you need to do something you’ve never done before.” And though my work experience at AWS has been enriching and successful, I felt the need to push myself outside my comfort zone and grow further, to align with my long-term career goals. Given my educational background is in engineering, I felt that studying for an MBA at HKU Business School would help me widen my perspectives, hone my soft skills, and gain knowledge in business management so as to be better prepared for executive/strategic roles in various functions/industries, or eventually start my own venture.
Post-MBA, I hope to take on leadership roles across different functions or industries with a newfound perspective & confidence. Through the Full-time MBA Programme, I hope to acquire the necessary hard and soft skill-sets and also build and expand my connections with peers, alumni, professors and executives from organisations.
