I am currently leading Market Access, Pricing, Pharmaco-Economics and Healthcare Policies as VP of Oncology Policy and Market Access in Novartis Oncology’s Emerging Growth Markets region based in Basel, Switzerland. It covers about 70 countries in Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, Turkey, Russia and CIS. I had the privilege of taking HKU MBA programme when I was heading Asia regional Market Access and Corporate Affairs for the other leading multinational pharmaceutical company in Hong Kong, prior to joining Novartis. Despite my many business journeys around the world throughout the year, I was able to complete my MBA programme in 15 months, because HKU MBA programme provides students with many opportunities to access the different elective programmes on week days and weekends and allows students from all over the world to work with the EMBA programmes from London Business School, Columbia and HKU. I could extend my professional network beyond the pharmaceutical industry with HKU MBA programme, especially through faculties and the other students with diverse backgrounds and expertise. I am currently leveraging those connections in my role at Novartis to bring different external perspectives to the organization when necessary. The other thing I appreciated very much was the passion of the faculties for trying to help students become critical problem solvers in the complex business environment.
