Mentor: Milind Kamble, Head of Delivery and Operations, Tata Consultancy, Hong Kong

I am very grateful to have had Mr. Milind Kamble as my mentor. Milind has been very patient and understanding to help me shape my career path. He helped me understand my strengths and how to leverage them and my precious experiences to explore new career paths. I have a background in aviation and wanted to explore this industry and other industries with a core focus on marketing and sales roles. With Hong Kong protests and COVID-19, my mentor was kind to support me during this challenging time through video interactions as well. He shared actionable insights and was helpful in charting a career path for myself for both short and long-term.

When I shared my interest in learning more about technology, he shared a book with me “HBR’s 10 Must Reads – On AI, Analytics and the New Machine Age”, which was a great starting point to fuel my quest for knowledge. I learned how to be a continuous learner and this helped me in getting a summer internship with BCW Group, a strategy consulting firm based in Hong Kong focused on digital payments and digital asset infrastructures. He inspired me to develop new skills and is deeply rooted in values. He also shared his journey from his humble beginnings in India to where he stands today. Values and passion are key to success in any career path, and it’s important to build on them. Mentors come with years of experience in the field and have deep rooted values to be able to understand their mentees, and having this interaction has been a highlight in my HKU MBA journey.
