As part of our commitment to providing career services that nurture leaders with global vision and mindset, the HKU MBA Career Development & Training (CDT) team organises business treks for Full-time MBA students. These short trips provide students invaluable learning experience across different regions, allowing them to explore potential career paths and gain in-depth industry insights, whilst establishing connections with industry experts and alumni.
In this feature, our Full-time MBA students embarked on an intensive yet enriching journey in the Middle East in January. The week-long trek was packed with company visits, alumni and networking events, and cultural experiences. Here is a recap of the remarkable journey:
Day 1: Students had the pleasure of visiting ManpowerGroup Middle East, Tencent Cloud, Abdul Latif Jameel, ASG Global Shipping DMCC Dubai. Through these visits, students gained a deeper understanding of the job market and potential opportunities in the Middle East.
Day 2: The journey continued with visits to Accenture Middle East in the morning, followed by DP World in the afternoon. In the evening, our MBA students, alumni and corporate partners gathered at the Palace Downtown Hotel for dinner. It was a great opportunity for everyone to connect amidst the beauty of Dubai Downtown, and celebrate the launch of the Middle East Alumni Network of the HKU Business School.
Day 3: Students explored Hub71 to learn about tech startups in Abu Dhabi. Next, they visited ADGM Academy, where they gained insights on financial education in the region. In the evening, the group toured the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, an iconic cultural and religious landmark in the UAE.
Day 4: On the final day of the trek, the CDT team organized visits to Emaar Properties in the morning, followed by the visiting DIFC Innovation Hub at noon, and concluded with visiting flydubai after lunch.
