Job Title

Partner & CEO Asia at YKONE

Why are you a mentor for HKU MBA students?

I have been fortunate to have great mentors who helped shape my career, so I believe it is now my turn to give back. Mentoring HKU MBA students allows me to share what I have learned over the years. It is also an opportunity to engage with fresh and dynamic perspectives as the students challenge the status quo and keep my thinking sharp. Plus, my mentees come from diverse regions like South Korea, Vietnam, and beyond, which not only enriches the experience but also deepens my understanding of markets essential to our business.

How has your experience been working with your mentee?

My experience with my mentees has been very positive. Many students are using their MBA to pivot in their careers, making this an important time for them. It’s very rewarding to be there to help them explore and evaluate options. My mentees are curious, full of questions, and I am learning a lot from this mutual exchange. It is inspiring to see where their journeys have taken them and I enjoy staying in touch with them even after the mentoring period. On a side note, it is great to collaborate with the HKU MBA team who organise such a well-structured programme and seamless mentoring experience.

What is your biggest satisfaction from the mentorship programme?

Watching my mentees succeed in their career shifts and knowing I have played a small part in that journey is my biggest satisfaction from this experience. On top of that, I get to expand my network across various industries and markets while building lasting connections. It is fulfilling to know that our interactions make a real difference, and I am glad to support the next generation.
