Biography

Mr. Thomas Deng has over 29 years of experience in equity and investment strategy research, investment banking and equity capital market, asset management, and wealth management through his various roles in the financial service industry. Mr. Deng is best known as a leading China strategist for many years. He presently serves as a Chairman at Prudence Fund (HK) Investment Management. Before his current role, he held senior positions at various global financial institutions, including 7 years as a Managing Director, Chief China Strategist in Global Investment Research, and Head of China Equities Market in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs, 5 years as a Managing Director, Chief China Strategist, and Chief Investment Officer at UBS Wealth Management, 2 years as Deputy CEO and Head of Investments at Invesco Great Wall Asset Management. He holds double Master’s degrees in Economics and Statistics from the University of Utah and a bachelor’s degree in International Finance from Wuhan University. He also graduated from the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and has served as a Member of the Board Directors of the Harvard Business School Association of HK for over 12 years. He achieved his CFA designation in 2000.
