Yuta Shirahata, a driven entrepreneur from Japan, has found success through the HKU MBA program. He has initiated two notable projects: Meta Akita, leveraging Web3 technology to showcase rural festivals and products, and Not the Butt, a fashion brand incorporating NFTs. Yuta's ventures have gained support from organizations like the Akita Inu and Cyberport. With a "just do it" mentality, Yuta proves that a perfect business plan is not necessary to start a successful venture.

Through working on the project, we really gained a much deeper understanding of the essence of and the vision behind ESG, including its economic, social and compliance implications in our society. The experience was truly valuable for MBA students like us in the sense that we were able to combine both theoretical and practical knowledge shared by the industrial insiders.

I was very determined and knew exactly what my goal hence why HKU was the only school I applied to. My goal after MBA was to be a banker in Hong Kong. And I achieved it

I decided to pursue an MBA to build a broader and deeper understanding of what it takes to create and implement a successful corporate strategy focusing on Asia.
