We had the pleasure of hosting a fireside chat focused on the transformative trends in the FinTech industry, featuring two distinguished speakers, Ms. Jennifer Tan, Executive Vice President – Strategy Development and Government Affairs, Greater Bay Area from Ant Group, and Mr. Ernest Leung, President & Group Chief Operating Officer from WeLab, moderated by our MBA student, Mr. Alex Tam.

Jennifer shared how AlipayHK has contributed to the development of Hong Kong’s payment ecosystem and explained how it improves customer experience by uniting various daily services in one app. Ernest shared insights on WeLab Bank’s rapid rise in the competitive digital banking sector and its innovative solutions that set it apart from the competition.

Both speakers emphasised the surge in AI adoption within finance. Jennifer explained how Ant Group incorporated AI technology into its services and planned for further application of AI technology. Regarding the use of AI, Ernest discussed how WeLab’s collaborated with other parties to advance AI-driven financial innovations, as well as the development of AI’s role in its business.
