As part of the China Immersion Programme, HKU MBA full-time students were introduced to the Greater Bay Area (GBA) initiative and opportunities by InvestHK. David Wong, Head of Greater Bay Area Business Development, shared information on the GBA’s development and specific roles of Hong Kong with regards to this. With regards to the country’s implementation of innovation-driven development and commitment to reform and opening-up the border, there are 7 areas of development. These include innovation and technology hub, infrastructural connectivity, competitive modern industrial system, and joint Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao cooperation platforms. Mr. Wong emphasised the strategic position of Hong Kong as a gateway for both inbound and outbound investment and professional services.
Lastly, Mr. Wong spoke about InvestHK’s role in attracting and retaining strategically important foreign direct investments and supporting international and Mainland investors in setting up and expanding their businesses in Hong Kong.
