For the second session of the Singapore Trek, we had Chris Lee from SoftBank join us to share about investing in the Information Revolution.

Chris discussed the growth potential of technology in the South East Asian region, and how technological development has resulted in better accessibility and the democratization of information, benefiting many low-income households within the region. Focusing on long-term projections and short-term market trends, Chris outlined Softbank’s current investment strategy and philosophy, highlighting the broad nature of technology in SEA. He also explained SoftBank’s investment evaluation criteria – particularly focusing on how start-ups and entrepreneurs deal with unprecedented times and unexpected urgencies, which has become an increasingly important characteristic in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.
