I am an outgoing person who is always looking for new experiences. I grew up in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, and graduated from Monash University with a degree in Economics and Management. Since then I have gone on to become the Commercial Banking Relationship Manager at Affin Bank.
I would say one of my biggest career accomplishments to date is achieving SGD 4.7 million worth of sales within 11 months (banca, unit trusts, structured deposits, and mortgages) as an associate in wealth management, and managing assets for more than 90 clients. My second proudest moment is handling accounts of companies as a commercial banking relationship manager, whose combined total revenue was upwards of MYR 900 million across 10 different industries.
I decided to study for an MBA to build and develop my leadership skills and professional network, as well as gain a more holistic grasp of all the various areas of business. I chose the HKU MBA programme for its outstanding international exposure and its unique and prime placement as the bridge between China and the world. But more than this, Hong Kong has a vibrancy and forward-looking attitude unlike any other city I’ve ever lived in.
Once I graduate, I hope to move into leadership and management roles. I aim to utilise the knowledge gained during my time at HKU Business School, as well as my new network of contacts, to work in international locations and gain more international exposure.
