Having completed my undergraduate studies with a primary focus on history and Spanish, I knew that I would need to develop fundamental business and management skills early in my career. I have always seen an MBA as the next major step in my career progression, and moving to Hong Kong presented an opportunity to pursue a degree on which I would gain a perspective different from that available in most US classrooms while continuing to work full time. Since beginning the HKU MBA programme, I have been able to bring lessons learnt in the classroom to projects at work and to introduce insights from the office into classroom discussions. I see the MBA programme as an opportunity to launch a new career trajectory but also as an opportunity to change the way I think about and see the world.
