Everyone here has a story to share when they begin their MBA journey. Personally, I am excited to get to know everybody in the class, hear about their experiences and learn how their perspectives are shaped.

I grew up in Perak, Malaysia, and graduated from the Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) with a bachelor’s degree in Financial Economics. I have been in the Financial Services industry since 2015 and my current role is Capital Markets Manager at WeLend Limited (a member of the WeLab Group).

Previously, during my time with Maybank Group (one of the largest banks in Southeast Asia), I was given the opportunity to relocate to Hong Kong office after my two-year management associate programme to strengthen the Greater China Client Coverage & Credit and Asset Quality Management team and to focus on ASEAN and Greater China cross-border transactions. This was an important career milestone of mine, not only because I truly admire the cultural diversity of this city, but it reminds me of the importance of taking a step further and always exploring.

I believe I am ready to study for an MBA at this point in my career because I want to explore options that could accelerate my career further. I believe the two-year Part-time MBA Programme at HKU Business School would be the best platform for self-reflection and personal improvement.

Being a kid that grew up in a little town in Malaysia, I’ve become more aware and convinced that given the privilege of being part of the HKU MBA community, I ought to give back to those who have helped me along the way. I hope to pay it forward to those who do not and cannot have the same privileges as I do and share my new knowledge and expertise.
