I gained a medical degree in China, after which I worked as a trainee physician and learned first-hand how existing medical treatments of certain diseases such as cancer and HIV leave much to be desired. My ambition to defeat those diseases drove me to pursue a Master’s degree in Cancer Biology at Vanderbilt University in the United States. I further developed my interest in biomedical research when I worked at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center and later at Sanofi, one of the world’s leading multinational pharmaceutical companies.

For me, the most impressive and beneficial characteristic of the HKU MBA is its culture, which values diversity and the individual. A second strength is HKU’s strong partnerships with London Business School and Columbia Business School, which will provide me with a first-class education and enable me to tap into broad networks amongst the world’s major business centres. I also believe that I can enhance my entrepreneurial ambitions through the proprietary teaching framework developed at the Centre for Asian Entrepreneurship and Business Values and through the diverse social events and activities the programme offers.

I am enrolled in the full-time programme. The choice of this mode was determined by my career goals. To transform myself into a successful business leader, I need to endow myself with both the systematic training that the HKU MBA offers and hands-on industry experience.
